Did you know that Medicare is not only for those age 65 and up? Disabled individuals who have been awarded Social Security Disability benefits are eligible for Medicare 24 months after eligibility for disability benefits. Medicare Advantage plans are available for disabled beneficiaries as well as those aged 65 and up. Many Medicare Advantage plans are available to you at no extra cost beyond the Medicare Part B premium you are already paying! In addition, many also include prescription drug coverage- something original Medicare does not cover. Medicare Advantage and Special Needs plans are available to provide better coverage for disabled individuals, focusing on the medical needs specific to your individual disabling condition(s). If you qualify for SoonerCare, you may be eligible for an even better Medicare plan with higher premiums paid by SoonerCare.
